The National Bargaining Council for the Private Security Sector (NBCPSS) recently participated in the Eastern Cape Department of Public Works & Infrastructure’s Security and Protection Management Unit workshop at Qhasana Canteen, aimed at improving professionalism and operational standards within the security industry. NBCPSS Regional Manager Harold Booysen delivered a key presentation on industry regulations and employee benefits, while representatives from DPWI’s Contract Management Unit, PSiRA, Department of Employment and Labour, SALT Employee Benefits, and DPWI’s Security Unit contributed to comprehensive discussions.
The workshop provided security guards with crucial information about their employee rights, benefits, and addressed workplace challenges including salary calculations and working conditions through interactive sessions. This collaboration reinforces NBCPSS’s commitment to building a safer, fairer, and more professional security environment through partnerships with government, employers, and employees across the sector.
